Simple, delicious, fresh and full of so much flavour, this thermomix red pepper and tomato soup is a real winner and can be eaten all year round – and when cooked in the Thermomix takes no time at all; great if you find yourself looking after children or running out of time!
Before you can buy a thermomix you are given a demo of all the things it can do. Breads, soups, sauces, steamed fish and veg, desserts, you name it, there’s a good chance the thermomix can do it without a lot of the fuss and time associated with many such dishes.
Anyway, though most of the food cooked was fantastic, the real clincher was the soup – red pepper and tomato – simple, easy, healthy and absolutely delicious. It has remained one of our favourite dishes to this day!

- 2 garlic cloves, peeled
- 400g fresh tomatoes, chopped in half
- 400g vegetable stock

Hello, Jamie. I was looking for tomato soups to make in my thermomix that did’t require some sort of stock and came across yours which, obviously, asks for stock… But it looks so good that I really want to make it! Do you think I can replace it with something else /maybe water, a lesser amount)?
Hello, thank you. I think it would be worth trying with the same amount of water plus a couple of extra punches of salt and some pepper. If you wanted to you could add a pinch of a few dried herbs you have in your kitchen, parsley, garlic, sage, etc. Would love to hear how you get on. Is there any particular reason you don’t want to use stock?
One of the best soups I’ve made in my thermomix – a vibrant and tasty dish. I’ll be making it again, thank you!
Thank you – so good to hear.
